European countries hold high rankings when it comes to the UN's Human Development Index and one of the reasons for this is the high life expectancy that many of the continent's residents have.
Only Japan and Hong Kong have higher life expectancies than Europe's longest-living nations. Overall, 12 of the top 20 nations with the highest life expectancies come from Europe. In addition 18 of the 20 countries mentioned here have life expectancies higher than 80 years.
We've also included what percentage of each countries GDP is spent on healthcare along with their overall ranks in the UN's Human Development Index.
At the bottom of the pile in Europe is Ukraine with a life expectancy of 68.5, but which country is at the top?
